Systems and Mathematical Biology

We explore the biological systems from a mathematical perspective where we apply mathematical modelling to solve the complex biological phenomena and understand how these changes can be quantified to optimise the working model

In contrast to experimental biology, which deals with conducting experiments to support and validate scientific theories, mathematical and theoretical biology, also known as bio-mathematics, is a branch of biology that uses theoretical analysis, mathematical models, and abstractions of living organisms to investigate the principles that govern the structure, development, and behaviour of the systems. The discipline is occasionally referred to as mathematical biology, bio-mathematics, or theoretical biology to emphasise the mathematical and biological aspects, respectively. Although the phrases are occasionally used interchangeably, theoretical biology is more concerned with the establishment of theoretical principles for biology and mathematical biology is more concerned with the application of mathematical methods to explore biological systems.

We employ computational models to decipher the biological systems. We solve the set of mathematical equations, describing the biological systems, computationally and analyse the output accordingly. We develop mathematical models to understand the cellular and neurological functions.

If you are interested in undertaking a project in this field then connect with us. A basic understanding of coding experience, such as python, and mathematics is advisable before you start this course. If you find it difficult due to the lack of any of the above said experience, don't worry. Connect with us and we will refurbish the project according to your experience and project requirement.

You can go through our videos on YouTube to get an understanding of the mathematical course.
